Fibromylagia and the Immune System

chronic fatigue, tired, fibromyalgia, drug-free relief

Fibromyalgia (FM) went from a rare condition to one that is a reality for many people. Fibromyalgia affects anywhere from 3-20 million Americans, and affects women 10x more than men.1 Fibromyalgia is often a mysterious diagnosis with the classic symptoms of:

  • constant pain all over the body
  • headaches
  • fatigue, sleep disorders
  • brain fog
  • irritable bowel and bladder

Fibromyalgia has managed to stump doctors and scientific researchers alike, with the wide array of symptoms the diagnosis is given out frequently. There is no clear mechanism or cause for Fibromyalgia. The latest research is looking towards blood to be able to make a more efficient diagnosis. One blood marker is markedly increased in FM patients, this shows a decrease in the natural immune system.2 While this may be a better way to identify Fibromyalgia, it has not lead way to any new treatments.

Treatment options for Fibromyalgia are limited in efficacy, and often leave patients seeking out other alternatives. In Graham Washington Fibromyalgia patients are finding natural relief through a different approach. Dr Craig Lapenski is the premier natural relief fibromyalgia specialist in the Seattle-Tacoma area. As an Upper Cervical Chiropractor, Dr Lapenski, has helped patients overcome FM through increasing their immune system function.

The primary focus of Upper Cervical Chiropractic is the Atlas bone at the top of the neck and maintaining its proper position. When out of alignment there are negative effects in the neuro-endo-immune system.3 When the Atlas is corrected to its natural position through a gentle, specific adjustment the immune system can return to its proper function which allows for the natural resolution of Fibromyalgia symptoms.4

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms related to Fibromyalgia, it is important to have a consultation with your local Upper Cervical Chiropractor to ensure you are in alignment for proper immune system function.
