Finding Help to Cope with the Pain of Fibromyalgia

Schedule Your Appointment

Fibromyalgia (FM) and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) are related conditions but should not be confused or thought to be the same. While the diagnosis of each condition often depends on the physician, there are various differences. However, there are many symptoms in common, and they may both be related to a misalignment of the bones of the upper neck.

What are some of the symptoms that indicate fibromyalgia?

  • Extreme fatigue that does not improve with rest and becomes worse after physical or mental exertion
  • Depression
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Pain throughout the body for longer than a 3-month period
  • Pain in 11 out of the 18 pain spots of the body
  • Being between the ages of 20 to 50 years old. This condition can hit anyone at any age but is mostly seen in females in this age range.

A connection has posited between FM, CFS, and the fact they both seem to be caused or made worse by a misalignment in the upper cervical spine. A misalignment of this type hinders the function of the central nervous system. The nervous system has the job of regulating pain sensors in the body. Therefore, if it is malfunctioning, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue may occur.
