Saying Goodbye to Meniere’s Disease in Graham, Washington

Vertigo, Dizzy, Spinning, Meniere's Disease

Tech Times reported a Meniere’s cure in the works over a year ago. While the disease has been puzzling for researchers, this report showed that they have linked Meniere’s episodes to a reduction in the flow of blood to the brain, a condition that also appears in migraines.

What Is Meniere’s Disease?

Meniere’s is an inner ear disorder that affects balance and hearing. Symptoms include:

  • Vertigo
  • Tinnitus
  • Hearing loss
  • A feeling of fullness inside the ear

This condition generally presents during a person’s 40s or 50s. Estimates state that there may be as many as 600,000 Americans suffering from Meniere’s, and each year, 45,000 cases get diagnosed.

Researchers involved in the study noted above see a connection between Meniere’s and reduced blood flow. The fact is, however, that migraine and sleep apnea treatments only cover the symptoms of those conditions. They are not a cure. The same is true of applying them to Meniere’s.

What the Flow of Blood Concerns Really Show

The study isn’t without merit. Tissue does send faulty signals when deprived of oxygen, which occurs when blood flow is restricted. The results can be vertigo, hearing loss, and tinnitus. Sound familiar? That’s right. Those are the primary symptoms of Meniere’s.

The position of the atlas and axis vertebrae play a vital role in the proper flow of blood to the brain. Even a slight misalignment can impair blood flow. That can result in all of the symptoms of Meniere’s. That having been said, the best way to treat Meniere’s is to restore proper blood flow by realigning the vertebrae.

That’s the focus at our practice here in Graham, Washington. We use upper cervical chiropractic adjustments to realign the uppermost vertebrae and ensure proper blood flow. When a misalignment is the underlying cause of the symptoms, a precise adjustment can provide far more than the temporary relief of medications that merely mask symptoms.
