A Case Study with Hope
The Journal of Upper Cervical Chiropractic Research reported a case study on March 12, 2012, in which it examined the effects on the brain when the top two vertebrae in the spine are out of alignment.
This article told the story of a 75 yr old woman who suffered from a concussion ten years, which she suffered because of a fall to the floor. The next ten years were years of pain and suffering, as she continued to suffer from post-concussion syndrome (PCS) that entire time.
During that span of time, she sought the care of medical doctors, cardiologists, and neurologists for her condition over that ten year period. But none were able to help her, until she found a neurologist who was familiar with upper cervical chiropractic.
After running some tests on her, her neurologist determined her PCS was due to a misalignment in the top two vertebrae in her upper neck. She underwent CAT scans and MRIs during the three months immediately following her fall, which initially left her unable to speak, but then she was released. This is yet another failure of the medical community’s to properly deal with the underlying issues that patients suffer.
When she first sought upper cervical chiropractic care, her symptoms included
Symptoms to overcome
- Activity induced seizures
- Posture induced seizures
- Migraine headaches
- Unsteady and uncoordinated walking
- Low energy levels
- Laziness in the left eye
Of all of the symptoms of her PCS, her seizures were the result of exhaustion or bending forward. Their occurrence led to the sensation of increasing heat in her upper check, as well as the also lost the ability to speak and migraines followed. These were, it was determined by postural and X-ray evaluations, because her upper cervical spine was out of alignment.

Results of Upper Cervical
Though, just after her first upper cervical adjustment, she reported several noticeable difference.
- Improved to walk better
- increased range of motion in the rotation of her neck
- increased energy level
- Improved balance
- Improved vision (clarity, brightness, and color perception)
- Improvement and discontinuation of her lazy eye
- No more seizures
- No more migraines
All of her pain and suffering over that ten year period could have been avoided in only the medical community had the right knowledge. That’s just one story of someone who’s gone through years of needless suffering. There are a few people, such as yourself, who are lucky enough to find out how upper cervical chiropractic can realign any misalignments in their upper neck vertebrae. That realignment relieves any pressure on the brainstem, allowing for the brain to communicate with the body properly and more.
